Have I Got News For You returning to Friday evenings

BBC One’s political panel show returns to its start of the weekend slot.

BBC One’s political panel show Have I Got News For You is to return to its traditional Friday evening home. The satirical political programme has traditionally aired on Friday evenings but last year was moved to Thursday evenings by the Beeb.

The move to Thursday evenings proved unpopular with fans some of whom missed the series unaware it had returned. The decision to move Have I Got News For You back to its Friday home has been taken by new BBC One controller Danny Cohen.

Have I Got News For You features Ian Hislop and Paul Merton as team captains who are joined each week by a different guest – usually a politician or journalist. Between 1990 and 2002 the panel show was hosted by Angus Deayton but since he quit a revolving door of guest hosts have been used.

Amongst those more frequently hosting the show are Alexander Armstrong, Jack Dee, Jeremy Clarkson and Kirsty Young.
