BBC to bring back Ab Fab

Absolutely FabulousThe BBC is in talks to revive the Jennifer Saunders sitcom Absolutely Fabulous.

According to Broadcast the corporation are in talks with Saunders over reviving the popular comedy.  Absolutely Fabulous was created by Saunders but originally started life as a sketch featuring Dawn French as part of the French and Saunders show. The comedy became a firm favourite with viewers thanks to the outrageous antics of Eddie (Saunders) and Patsy (Joanna Lumley).

Absolutely Fabulous, shortened to Ab Fab by fans, originally ran between 1992 and 1996 concluding with a two-part special. Saunders revived the comedy for a further two seasons and several specials in 2001 until 2004. The revival of Ab Fab was revealed by Lumley in an interview with Hello magazine in which she said filming would begin in the Summer. The BBC has confirmed it is nearing a deal to revive the comedy.

It’s expected the shows stars such as Jennifer Saunders, Julia Sawlha and June Whitfield will all return.
