Celebrity Big Brother launches with 3.5 million viewers

Celebrity Big Brother returned to Channel Five last night for a new series with 3.5 million viewers.

The new series saw celebrities such as Natalie Cassidy, Denise Welch, Andrew Stone and Frankie Cocozza enter the Big Brother house. According to overnight figures the launch show was seen by 3.5 million viewers which, compared to the broadcaster’s average ratings for programmes, is a very good figure. However, it is considerably down on the 5.1 million viewers who tuned in for last year’s launch show on Channel Five.
