The newly revamped and re-launched The Bill has seemingly lost its appeal to audiences already with ITVratings dropping below the 4 million mark for last night’s episode. The Bill moved to a post watershed slot in July and dropped down to just one episode per week sporting a newer, grittier look with filming in HD just one feature of the revamp. The police drama took on a “CSI” style of filming with a brand new opening sequence and theme tune. However, the revamp doesn’t seem to have impressed audiences with last night’s episode falling below the 4 million mark. Last night’s episode pulled in just 3.6 million viewers compared to 4.2 million who tuned in last week.

BBC One had the lead at 9pm with its detective drama New Tricks attracting nearly 7 million viewers. At one point New Tricks peaked at 7.2 million viewers. Earlier in the evening ITV had better luck with their new soaps schedule still pulling in the viewers. The second episode of Emmerdale, at 8pm, pulled in an impressive 6.3 million viewers while Coronation Street mustered 7.5 million viewers.
