Marquess axes three Hollyoaks characters
The chopper has swung over at Lime Pictures.
New producer of Hollyoaks Paul Marquess has axed three characters from the Channel Four soap as he begins to make his mark; could there be more axing’s on the way though?
Three characters have been axed from the Channel Four soap Hollyoaks as new producer Paul Marquess begins to make his mark on the series. Marquess took over from Lucy Allan in January as producer on the show and it was only a matter of time before some characters were dropped from the soap.
Marquess has a history of axing characters and was dubbed “the axe man” during his time at The Bill for the massive cull he organised there – now it could be Hollyoaks turn for a “character cull”.
The first three characters to be dropped by Marquess are the remaining members of the Ashworths; Josh [Sonny Flood], Suzanne [Suzanne Hall] and Neville [Jim Millea] will be written out of the series later this year.
However, Rhys [Andrew Moss] will remain with the Lime Pictures production for the time being. The Ashworth family are currently the landlords of the pub The Dog in the Pond having successfully purchased it from the Osbournes at auction. Since arriving in 2005 the family certainly hasn’t been short of drama but it seems now that it’s the end of the road for them.
The question everyone will be asking though is who’ll be next?
