Glee to introduce Christian Character

Smash hit musical comedy series Glee is to introduce a new Christian character for the its second season.

Fox’s smash hit musical series Glee will introduce a new Christian character who disapproves of homosexuality Ryan Murphy has revealed. The new character will be introduced during Glee’s second season and will be female and will have strong anti-gay views – especially of regular character Kurt Hummel – and will also take a dislike to some of the dance routines of the Glee club.

“I’m adding a Christian character. We’ve taken a couple jabs at the right wing this year, so what I want to do with this character is have someone who Christian kids and parents can recognise and say, ‘Oh, look – I’m represented there, too!’. If we’re trying to form a world of inclusiveness, we’ve got to include that point of view as well.” – Ryan Murphy speaking to TV Guide.

Glee has won critically praise for its handling of taboo subjects such as homosexuality and teenage pregnancy and has become a huge hit not just in America but also the UK where it airs on E4.

Episodes of Glee shown on E4 had topped ratings of home-grown drama series Skins. It was recently revealed that Britain’s Got Talent singer Susan Boyle was being considered for a guest role in Glee while actor John Barrowman has also been linked to a guest spot on the series.
