Tuesday Ratings Round Up: Masterchef dishes up more viewers

On Tuesday evening Masterchef and The One Show added viewers while Emmerdale and Hollyoaks lost them.

The One Show at 7pm had a strong 4.4 million viewers which was up some 300,000 viewers on Monday’s edition of the magazine programme. Commonwealth Games coverage on BBC Two at 7pm had 1.5 million viewers while ITV’s Emmerdale pulled in 6.7 million viewers; down half a million viewers on Monday’s edition of the Yorkshire soap. Channel Four Hollyoaks also saw a slight dip in viewers at 6.30pm with 1.1 million viewers – down 100,000 on Monday evening.

 

At 8pm BBC One’s medical drama Holby City pulled in a strong 5.7 million viewers with Masterchef: The Professionals continuing its strong performance for BBC Two. The cookery series had 3.3 million viewers – up 200,000 viewers on Monday. ITV’s new Who Wants to be a Millionaire at 8pm pulled in 3.4 million viewers while Wedding House on Channel Four had 1.2 million viewers. 9pm and a Panorama special on BBC One; Kids in Care was seen by 3.7 million viewers. New BBC Two comedy series Whites had 2 million viewers with Celebrity adventure series 71 Degrees North on ITV1 attracting 3.4 million viewers. Ramsay’s Best Restaurant on Channel Four had 1.6 million viewers.

 

Channel Five had a strong night with its best rating coming from CSI: Miami at 9pm which had 2.3 million viewers followed by CSI: NY at 10pm with 1.5 million viewers. There’s A Hippo In My House at 8pm also performed well with 1.4 million viewers. Elsewhere and the ITV2 premier of The Vampire Diaries second season was seen by 660,000 viewers.
