Peter Andre stays with ITV2

Singer and reality TV star Peter Andre is to stay at ITV 2 after signing a multi-year TV deal to keep him with the network.

Peter Andre himself added “I’m so happy to be staying at ITV2. I’ve loved the last 6 years with the channel and look forward to my continued relationship and future with them.”

Peter Andre has grown to become one of ITV 2’s biggest assets, drawing over a million viewers for his reality TV episodes. Earlier this year, his ex-wife and TV rival on the same channel, Katie Price, quit ITV to move to Living TV. The new deal will see his reality documentary series, which follows him around his daily life, continue and a new show which will be hosted by Peter Andre. Details of the new show are expected to be announced next year.

Peter Andre re-emerged as one of the biggest celebrities in the UK during the past decade due to his appearance on I’m A Celebrity….Get Me Out Of Here! In 2004, which saw him hook up with glamour model Katie Price, who he subsequently went on to marry and divorce. Together they had several hit shows on ITV 2, as well as doing it solo in the wake of the break up.

ITV’s Director of Digital Channels and Acquisitions Zia Bennett has said that Peter Andre is the main face of the digital channel. “Peter is a key face of ITV2 who we’ve worked with hugely successfully over the past six years. We’re delighted to secure a deal that will see us build on that success with Peter.”

Can Associates, who make the Peter Andre shows for ITV 2 have said this morning that Peter is over the moon at the news.

Executive Producer of Can Associated TV Limited, Neville Hendricks said “We are delighted to be staying with ITV2 – it’s a natural fit for Peter’s show ‘Peter Andre: The Next Chapter’ which has been, and continues to be a huge success. Peter is over the moon and looks forward to various opportunities that ITV can offer to further his career in TV.”
