Joss Whedon ‘passed’ on Buffy reboot
Joss Whedon passed on the opportunity to be involved with the planned film reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Joss Whedon passed on the opportunity to be involved with the planned film reboot of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The creator of the franchise (which includes the original 1992 film and the subsequent television series) was reportedly offered the chance to be involved with the reboot last year. According to studio insiders Whedon was approached about the reboot last year by Fran Rubel Kuzui and Kaz Kuzui who hold the rights to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. However, Whedon decided to pass working on the remake in favour of The Avengers for Marvel.
Actress turned writer Whit Anderson is now working on the planned remake although fans of the franchise are less than happy. Many feel that Buffy without Joss Whedon just isn’t Buffy at all.
