The CW is reportedly considering replacing superhero drama Smallville with Raven, a DC Comics character. Smallville will conclude at the end of its current series – the 10th – and The CW has been looking for a suitable replacement for a while now.

It was widely expected that the broadcaster would seek to replicate the success of Smallville by commissioning another superhero based drama and according to Variety that could very well be Raven.

According to the trade paper Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel writer Diego Guitierrez is writing and acting as executive producer for the project.

Raven is a DC Comics character; a member of the Teen Titans who is half human-half demon with telepathic and empathic powers – and more importantly perhaps, female.
