Six Feet Under actress Lauren Ambrose joins Torchwood

Six Feet Under actress Lauren Ambrose is joining the cast of Torchwood: Miracle Day.

 

Six Feet Under actress Lauren Ambrose is joining the cast of Torchwood: Miracle Day, the fourth series of the Doctor Who spin-off. The new series is being co-produced by the BBC and American broadcaster Starz forming a ten-part series with a storyline on a “global” scale. According to Entertainment Weekly Lauren Ambrose, best known for her role of Claire Fisher on HBO’s Six Feet Under, has become the latest actor to be cast in the series.

 

The actress will appear in seven of the episodes as Jilly Fitzinger, a ‘sweet-talking PR genius with a heart of stone who’s just concerned the most important client of her career..and maybe all of time’. Lauren Ambrose joins confirmed cast members for the new series Bill Pullman and Mekhi Phifer as well as returning cast members John Barrowman, Eve Myles and Kai Owen. Production on the new series of Torchwood began on Monday and is slated to air on BBC One and Starz in July.
