Anna PaquinTrue Blood made a strong return to FX, in the UK,  on Friday evening for the start of its third series. The vampire drama’s third series aired on HBO last year to record ratings and a fourth season is currently in production. In the UK we’ve had to wait slightly longer for the third series but on Friday evening it premiered on digital channel FX. According to ratings data released by Attentional the premier was seen by 335,7000 viewers – up quite a bit on the 250,000 average for the second season on FX.

 

The first episode opened with Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin) looking for boyfriend Bill Compton (Stephen Moyer) unaware he has been kidnapped while Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) received a visit from the vampire Queen Sophie (Evan Rachel Wood).
