Axed BBC Countryfile host joins rival for one-off

Miriam O’Reilly is to front an ITV 1 ‘Tonight’ special on ageism after winning a tribunal against the BBC.

According to The Sun, O’Reilly will host a special edition of the Tonight programme in which she will look at how television executives treat ‘old’ presenters. O’Reilly won her case this month against the BBC after she was dropped from BBC One’s Countryfile when it was moved to prime-time, and replaced with two younger presenters. The paper claims that she will be quizzing BBC executives on the decisions they take when hiring presenters.

After winning the case, the BBC apologised to Miriam and stated that would be interested in working with her again.
