Grandma's HouseBBC Two was reportedly ordered a second series of the Simon Amstell comedy Grandma’s House. According to various reports the BBC are on the verge of ordering a second series of the sitcom which was co-written by Amstell and Dan Swimer. The two are currently working on new scripts for the second series with filming likely to take place later this year.

The ‘semi-autobiographical’ series saw Amstell play ‘himself’; a television presenter who decides to quit his high profile quiz show. As ‘Simon’ ponders on what to do next his mother Tanya (Rebecca Front) is constantly trying to push him to take on jobs for her own sake. As Tanya pushes her son into taking on new jobs (such as Celebrity Ballooning on ITV) her engagement to Clive (James Smith) is often a source of tension between her and Simon. Meanwhile Grandma (Linda Bassett) is ever keen to ensure that everyone is happy.

The six part series aired on BBC Two last year to mixed reviews and modest ratings. The majority of the cast are expected to return. However, the role of Grand-dad will be written out and not recast following the death of Geoffrey Hutchings.
