JedwardReports claim that The X Factor will scrap auditions in Ireland for the next series to hold them in Liverpool instead. Earlier this week it was suggested the next series of The X Factor would hold auditions in Liverpool for the first time. The news came after judges on Britain’s Got Talent were reportedly impressed with the talent there. However, it has now emerged that the proposal to hold auditions in Liverpool means the X Factor would not hold auditions in Ireland – because of time issues.

“There are only so many places we can go for auditions. We went to Dublin last year but we haven’t been to Liverpool so we thought we should do it this year. Obviously this is a blow to the Irish contestants but it’s only a short hop across the Irish Sea to Liverpool.” A ‘source’ quoted in The Sun

Previous actors from Ireland to feature within The X Factor include last year’s Mary Byrne and also Jedward duo Edward and John Grimes. Other notable Irish acts also include Eoghan Quigg and The Conway Sisters.
