Michael Rosenbaum turns down Smallville return

SmallvilleActor Michael Rosenbaum has reportedly turned down an offer to return to Smallville to reprise his role of Lex Luthor.

SmallvilleEntertainment Weekly are reporting that actor Michael Rosenbaum has turned down an offer to return to Smallville. The veteran superman drama is currently in its tenth and final season and the return of Rosenbaum as Lex Luthor is high on fans wish lists – especially for the finale. But according to EW that isn’t likely to happen as the actor has declined the chance to return.

“He has put the show behind him and moved on. He’s pursuing his other creative outlet [writing]. By all indications, he is not going to be involved.” – A “source” on EW.

Michael Rosenbaum played Lex Luthor on the first seven seasons of Smallville – becoming the main nemesis of Clarke Kent during that time. Blastr reports that there is still time for Rosenbaum to change his mind as there are still three episodes left to film before production wraps and producers are hopeful – but it does, at this stage, look unlikely. Unless of course its one big bluff to wrong-foot fans?#
