Nicollette Sheridan not planning on Desperate Housewives return

Desperate Housewives{jcomments on}Nicollette Sheridan has stated she isn’t planning on returning to Desperate Housewives for its finale next year.

The actress played man-eater Edie Britt on the ABC drama for its first five seasons until she was killed off in a car-accident. With yesterday’s announcement that Desperate Housewives will end after its 8th season attention has naturally turned to just how the soapy/drama will end. Speaking at the TCA press tour showrunner and creator Marc Cherry hinted that Sheridan could return as Edie for the finale – but the actress has denied she has any plans to do so.

“That’s news to me…..I had an amazing time playing that character. I loved her dearly, but they killed her! She’s dead” – Nicollette Sheridan on the Today show.

The finale of Desperate Housewives is just under a year away so anything could happen in the mean-time – so fans of Edie shouldn’t rule out an appearance by her be it in flashback or dream-sequence form. Meanwhile actress Dana Delany has confirmed producers of Desperate Housewives want her back to wrap up the storyline of Katherine Mayfair – who departed during the course of the 6th season to relocated Dana Delany to Paris with her lesbian lover, Robin (Julie Benz)

“They said they’d like to have me back and wrap up what happened to Katherine.” – Dana Delany in Sky Magazine.

The interview was given before the news that Desperate Housewives would end after its 8th season. Delany left the drama to star in fellow ABC series Body of Proof.
