The eighth series of The X Factor returns tonight on ITV1, but will you be watching?

This series marks the biggest change in its history as three new judges take the place dearly departed. Simon Cowell decided to leave to focus on launching the American version on FOX. He was replaced by Gary Barlow. The lead singer of Take That instantly qualifies to take the ‘head judge’ role. Many have said that Gary takes on the ‘Mr Nasty’ role, although he has insisted that he is just honest and constructive.

Cheryl Cole left the show to join Simon in America and as we all know now, it didn’t go according to plan. Just days after auditions began in America, producers decided to drop Cheryl. It was hoped that she would sign back up for the British version but time ran out for her. Producers couldn’t any longer and signed up Tulisa Contostavlos. Tulisa is widely known throughout the youth of today as one part of  the hip-hop trio N Dubz. Her time at the auditions will see some unpleasant moments as some contestants take to ‘disrespecting’ her.

Kelly Rowland is the next judge who, who initially replaced Cheryl, but due to Cheryl’s flip-flopping people will assume that Tulisa replaced Cheryl (technicalities are not important). Either way the former Destiny’s Child star is set to prove she is the biggest star and according to some, has done a good job at the auditions.

And finally, Louis Walsh is back! The only remaining judge returns to keep some continuity and deliver some more Irish charm. It is said that there is an Irish act that he doesn’t like this time! Louis has been known to favour Irish acts whether good or bad.

Dermot O’Leary is back as host, so will you be joining him and the judges for the new series of The X Factor? Leave us your comments below.
