Second series of Children's Ward to be released on DVD

{jcomments on}The second series of Granada’s critically acclaimed drama Children’s Ward is to be released on DVD.

The first series was released by Network DVD and the second will follow in October. The BAFTA winning drama ran between 1989 and 2000, clocking up 12 seasons, before the axe finally fell as ITV’s commitment to children’s drama was scaled back – as per the industry. The series was originally created by Paul Abbott and Kay Mellor both of whom have since gone on to create hit prime-time shows such as Shameless and Fat Friends.

Children’s Ward featured many actors who went on to find stardom afterwards such as Tina O’Brien, Ralf Little, Jane Danson and Tim Vincent. The second series of Children’s Ward aired in 1990 and featured actors such as Nicola Stephenson who later went onto work on Brookside and Holby City.

The second series of Children’s Ward is due for release on October 3rd from Network DVD.
