X Factor and Prime Suspect lose viewers
ABC’s revived detective drama Charlie’s Angels finally saw a rise in ratings but it’s not out of the woods yet while NBC’s Prime Suspect lost more viewers and the X Factor on Fox also lost viewers.
For the first time since it premiered Charlie’s Angels saw a much needed rise in ratings but it isn’t save from cancellation yet. Since the rebooted drama returned to ABC with three new angels (Annie IIonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor) ratings have been low – and getting lower by the week. In fact Charlie’s Angels is in serious danger of being cancelled so the fact its ratings rose last night is a good sign for the struggling drama. According to early ratings data it had 6 million viewers with a 1.3 18-49 rating compared to last week’s 5.9 million viewers. It probably won’t, in all honesty, be enough to save the drama.
Meanwhile NBC’s remake of Prime Suspect continued to under perform with 4.5 million viewers and a 1.3 18-49 demo. Earlier this week NBC ordered six additional scripts for the police drama in a sign of confidence despite its poor ratings so far. However, Prime Suspect may not survive the axe if it continues to deliver such low ratings. Over on Fox and the X Factor also saw ratings drop slightly – last night’s episode was delayed from Wednesday evening when Simon Cowell’s new talent show was pulled because of over-running sports action. Last night’s delayed episode had 10.8 million viewers with a 3.6 18-49 rating.
