Big ratings for Merlin’s second episode
Consolidated ratings for The Darkest Hour Part Two reveal that it was seen by nearly 7 million viewers!
The second part of the season four opener saw a huge rise in ratings for Merlin on the overnight figures. According to such figures The Darkest Hour Part Two was seen by 5.5 million viewers – which was up on the overnight figure for the first part. However, consolidated figures for the episode reveal its audience grew by a whopping 1.2 million viewers meaning 6.8 million viewers actually saw the episode. That’s a pretty impressive growth in viewers meaning, as with Doctor Who, viewers are recording Merlin and watching it later.
However, in overnight figures Merlin is also performing very well against the X Factor and has seen its ratings rise week-on-week. So not only is it holding its own against the X Factor on overnight figures but its also seeing big gains in final ratings too – the fantasy drama is in good health.
So how does the 6.8 million for part two of The Darkest Hour compare with audience levels for part one? Well, yes, you’ve guessed it – its up! The final figure for part one was 6.4 million viewers meaning Merlin gained some 400,000 viewers.
