Military Wives Choir on track for Christmas Number 1

The Military Wives Choir, as featured by Gareth Malone on BBC Two’s The Choir: Military Wives, is set to top the charts this Sunday.

The Official Charts Company revealed today that in just two days the choir has sold 242,000 copies of their single ‘Wherever You Are’, the fastest selling single in six years. X Factor winners Little Mix, who are currently at the top spot with their song ‘Cannonball’, have shifted just 38,000 in two days. This year the Christmas Top 40 chart will be on Christmas Day itself, as it falls on a Sunday.

The previous fastest selling single in two days  was X Factor series 2 winner Shayne Ward when he sold 313,000 copies.
