Albert Square pays tribute to one of Walford’s most colourful and memorable residents. The death of Pat Evans (Pam St Clement) on New Year’s Day took everyone in EastEnders by surprise and in tonight’s extended episode the residents come together to pay their last respects.

When Ricky (Sid Owen) struggles with the eulogy, Janine (Charlie Brooks) rushes to his aide and pays respect to her step-mum. Janine admits that they struggled to see eye to eye over the years but Pat always did her best for her and Ricky.

EastEnders airs tonight at 8.00pm on BBC One.
