Max Brown joins CW Beauty and the Beast pilot

Max BrownBritish actor Max Brown has joined the cast of The CW’s Beauty and the Beast pilot.

The CW pilot is currently one of two based around the Beauty and the Beast fairy-tale. ABC has also ordered a Beauty and the Beast pilot which is a “reimaging” of the fairy tale. The CW version is a loose remake of the 1980s series which aired on CBS.

Deadline reports that British actor Max Brown has been added to the cast of the pilot – he will play medical examiner Evan. Also part of the cast will be Kristen Kreuk, Jay Ryan, Austin Basis and Nicole Gale Anderson.

Max Brown will be familiar to British audiences for his role of Dimitri Levendis in BBC One drama Spooks – titled MI-5 in America – in the final two seasons of the spy drama. He also played Adam Wainwright in the 2010 series of Foyle’s War and Sam Grey in the first series of drama Mistresses. He will also be known to soap fans for his roles of Kristian Hargreaves in Hollyoaks and Mark Russell in Crossroads.

American audiences will be familiar with Brown his role of Edward Seymour in Showtime drama The Tudors opposite Jonathan Rhys-Meyers and Henry Cavill. Brown joined the cast of The Tudors as Seymour in its second season and remained until its finale at the end of the fourth season.
