Music Based Drama gets online premiere

A music based drama, Steffi, is to premiere exclusively on YouTube.

Steffi is the story of a talented girl from a South London Council estate, who’s plucked from obscurity and propelled into the world of overnight fame and stardom.

This music based drama series with has a wide ranging cast featuring a mix of the UK’s hottest young acting talent and big name stars – will premiere exclusively via YouTube on new digital, premium drama channel ThisIsDrama.

The series, based on the bestselling novel The Overnight Fame of Steffi McBride by Andrew Croft, stars Lee Boardman  from ITV’s Great Night Out) – with acting debuts from Jasmine Breinburg a performer from Danny Boyle’s Olympic Ceremony, Jamal Edwards and Sugababe’s Jade Ewen.

Steffi features an original UK urban music soundtrack from Wiley, MIC Righteous (No1 in iTunes HipHop Charts), Ceezlin, R&B from Arjun Coomaraswamy and a title track from Becky Hill (The Voice).

In an industry first, the series pilot will be released as bite-sized episodes in a weekly schedule – starting on 15th March 2013 – premiering exclusively on youtube.com/thisisdrama in partnership with SBTV – the UK’s leading youth broadcaster  which to date has over 170 million video views.

ThisIsDrama is a unique new digital channel showcasing original and exclusive drama series, films and mini-series featuring both well established and emerging acting and production talent exclusively on YouTube.
